In May 2022 to my delight, I moved to Hangleton where, growing up, I spent many happy years attending Knoll Girls School. I am an experienced Councillor, elected first in 2019. As a divorced single mum of 4 children, I was the first member of my family to go to university at the age of 44. Qualifying as a history teacher. I went on to win awards as an adult learner and became an Ambassador for Adult Learning, culminating in an honour from the Queen for services to the country in Learning and Skills. Interacting with people is my passion. I have raised my children on my own, which means I have resilience, determination and real-life experience to face life’s many challenges. I am passionate and dedicated to giving a voice to those who feel silenced and forgotten, and I am proud of my working-class background. Hangleton is now my home, and I can think of no greater privilege and honour than to be a councillor here in Hangleton and Knoll. I am a White Ribbon Champion for the city and also the Armed Forces Champion.
